Open Mic Nights

Just recently, a close friend of mine and myself have started to embrace the folk/acoustic in us and have been playing at open mic(s). And let me tell you, people freakin’ love us!

Okay, okay, okay, so I’m not going to let it get to my head. But seriously, it’s a good time. I do a lot of playing and singing in front of audiences of sometimes three to four hundred people at a time, because I co-lead worship at my church in Cambridge. But now I’m just starting to get into the whole, play-random-shit-that-I-love-in-front-of-people-I-don’t-know-in-a-bar, and it’s pretty amazing. I think the most incredible thing about it is that I get to play with an incredible musician who has far more knowledge in music theory that I do; which is sad, since I’m classically trained and started playing when I was five. (But let’s skip that part.)

A couple weeks ago Rob and I played at All Asia in Cambridge.

It was incredible.

Since I have the most amazing friends, I had support coming from all angles in abundance. Thank you for the support and love. It means everything to me.

Rob and I will be playing at the Open Mic at The Burren in Davis Square next Tuesday, January 3rd at 6:30 p.m. Come one, come all!
