Recipe: Spiced Hot Cider

Happy Tuesday-after-Christmas everyone! A lot of us have this week off and are able to bask in family-time. For the holiday party that some friends and I hosted over a week ago, we made Spiced Hot Cider. I thought that this would be a good opportunity to share my first recipe with you all!

Ingredients:

Diced Ginger

1/2 teaspoon whole allspice

1 teaspoon whole cloves

1 cinnamon stick

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 pinch ground nutmeg

1 large orange, quartered with peel

2 quarts apple cider

041

Since we made this for a house party, lots of people added rum to their drinks. Since I’m half allergic to alcohol, I did not. In fact, I didn’t have a full glass because apple-based drinks are too acidic for my stomach to handle. BUT everyone who had it, LOVED it! It was a huge hit and everyone was impressed. So I highly recommend this recipe, especially if you want to boost your ego a little!

Also, we used a crockpot, which kept the cider nice and hot!

I got the base of the recipe here
